30+ new categories and 160+ new brands in IPL 13 as compared to IPL 12

According to the TAM Adex report of 35 matches we saw drastic changes; we have seen the count of advertisers which got increased by 9% and count of brands got increased by 4%.

In this season Ecom-gaming was on the top category followed by cellular phones-smart phones and Ecom wallets. Whereas, Cellular phones-smart phone was on top bar in IPL12.

The brand ‘Oppo Reno4 Pro’ was the leading exclusive brand on both Hindi and English language sports channels (Period: 19th Sep’20 – 17th Oct’20 (IPL 13) and 23rd Mar’19 – 18th Apr’19 (IPL 12))

This year there were more new brands in both regional and sports channel like surf Excel Quick wash, Asian paints apex ultima protek, sunfeast veda marle light, maaza, 7up and many more.

There were 31 new categories and 162 brands advertisements as compared to IPL 12. Top new category which ranked this year were wafer/chips, Ecom-pharma/healthcare, noodles/pasta, furniture related item also vi cellular phone service, oppo F17/ F17 pro were included in the top list.

The top five categories that were missing during IPL 13 include ecom-Travel and Tourism, fans, refrigerators, Corporate/brand image and Toothpastes.
