TOI’s revamps What’s HOT page

TOI’s refreshed What’s HOT page serves up all the latest happenings in the city with its crisp snippets and quirky layout

Mumbai: In its rejigged version, the What’s HOT section that appears in TOI’s metro supplements is sporting a much cooler, crisper and colorful new look.

Resonating with the sights, sounds and vibes of metropolitan India, What’s HOT is structured to be the daily curator for all that’s a ‘must-see’ and ‘must do’ in the respective Metro city. A complete guide for eateries, concerts, nightlife, performing arts, literature, stand-up acts, shopping and more, What’s HOT helps today’s discerning youth plan their entire week’s entertainment better.

The layout is young and fun, and peppered with mnemonics for Wine & Dine, Music, and Theater among others in sync with the cultural representation of the city. The logo integrates the city landscape depicting key landmarks of the city. For instance, Gateway of India is integrated in Mumbai logo, and QutubMinar and India Gate finds its way in Delhi adaptation of the logo. The new changes in the page will ensure that these listings appear unique, while also helping the reader to skim through and find their favorite event in no time.

Commenting on the revamped design, Sanjeev Bhargava, Director, Brand TOI, “The refurbished look of What’s HOT should appeal to our readers because of a more reader friendly look and feel and a stronger local connect. Keeping in mind the hyper local sensibility of our metro supplement as a brand, we believe that introduction of the city-specific logo is a perfect fit for our readers. Making the city pages specific, innovative, and brief, will aim to offer our readers, information of all the latest happenings in a fun yet informative manner”

The layout, by the design team allows the page to hold more stories than it did previously. In addition to this, the page will also be available throughout the week in its new avatar. Staying true to its tagline- “If it’s happening, It’s Here”, the What’s HOT page gives an overview of the city’s events and occurrences.

Today, the youth has diverse interests, hopping from one experience to another and trying to pack in more fun in the same time. This is where an all-encompassing product like What’s HOT works brilliantly, gelling the psyche of the new age-culture and food buff. Crisp snippets, quirky boxes, and a brighter layout make the new version a must-grab-it.
