Star Plus regains leadership in Urban HSM; Zee Anmol continues to dominate U+R HSM

BARC Wk 2 : Sony regains top spot in Urban HSM & becomes No. 2 in U+R; Zee Anmol continues to lead Rural

Mumbai: The BARC has unveiled the data of week 39 for the period between Saturday, 22nd September 2018 and Friday, 28th September 2018. The Hindi GEC market has witnessed a rearrangement in the order in week 39. Zee Anmol has retained its dominance in the HSM Urban and Rural category, though there is a decline in its viewership this week. Star Plus which has regained its leadership slot with a hike in viewership against week 38 in which it was positioned at no.2.

In the HSM U+R category, following the market leader Zee Anmol 775521 (000s) impressions is Star Utsav with 730938 (000s) impressions. Star Plus 674836 (000s) impressions that was in the 5th slot in week 38 has climbed up to to become the second runner up with Star Bharat 652806 (000s) impressions and Sony Pal 645457  (000s) impressions have also moved up the chart and are placed in the 4th and 5th places with against the 7th and 8th places they occupied the previous week respectivley. Colors 634604 (000s) impressions and Zee TV 613238 (000s) impressions have glided to the 6th and 7th slot from the 3rd and 4th positions they were placed in week 38 respectively. With Sony 594293 (000s) impressions has stepped down to the 8th place while Sony Sab 456625 (000s) impressions and Rishtey 449926 (000s) impressions interchanged their positions and stood at 9th and 10th places respectively.

Hindi GEC Urban

In week 39, Star Plus 461929 (000s) impressions has emerged as the market leader followed by Sony 445792 (000s) impressions and Colors 445474 (000s) impressions. Zee TV 377869 (000s) impressions and Sony Sab 336108 (000s) impressions are seen retaining their positions in the 4th and 5th places respectively with almost the same viewership. Star Bharat 313321 (000s) impressions and Star Utsav 220367 (000s) impressions are also settled in the 6th and 7th places in week 39. While Sony Pal 188659 (000s) impressions and Zee Anmol 149286 (000s) impressions interchanged their slots stood at No. 8 and No.9 this week. &TV 134300 (000s) impressions with an increase in its viewership managed to occupy the 10th slot in the top 10 HSM channels ratings in the urban category.

Hindi GEC Rural

Zee Anmol 626235 (000s) impressions has retained its leadership in the HSM rural category followed by Star Utsav 510571(000s) impressions Sony Pal 456799 (000s) impressions and Rishtey 345575 (000s) impressions where the rankings are seen unchanged against the week 38 rankings. Star Bharat 339485 (000s) impressions has stepped to the 5th slot pushing Dangal TV 325235 (000s) impressions to the 6th place. Zee TV 235368 (000s) impressions and Big Magic 223175 (000s) impressions have retained their positions of 7th and 8th slots with respectively. Star Plus 212907 (000s) impressions has taken away the 9th slot from Colors 189131(000s) impressions while the latter stepped down to the 10th place in the list.
