The TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Report-16 for period Jun-Sep’20*, it comprises of 2 parts that is Overall Advertising Snapshot of Genres: Aug-Sep’20* and Focus on Advertising in Top 2 Genres (GEC and Movies): Jun-Sep’20*. We have already covered the 1st section of the report in Part 1 wherein this one we focus on the 2nd section of the report:

Trends in GEC and Movies Genres: Aug-Sep’20 (till 26th Sep, 2020)

Movies genre

Leading Sub Genres of Movies: Aug-Sep’20* & Weekly Ad Volumes’ Trend: Week 32 to 39, 2020

The report highlights that during Aug-Sep’20*, Ad Volumes on movies genre were dominated by Hindi Movies channels with 46% share of Ad Volumes. While during week 39, Ad Volumes increased by 11% on Movies genre which is highest so far compared to week 32.

Movies Genre: Monthly tally of New* Categories, Advertisers & Brands (Aug-Sep ’20^) (*based on previous month)

On TV, Aug’20 registers highest No. of new* categories, advertisers and brands on Movies genre between Aug’20 – Sep’20^.

Movies Genre: Leading Categories and Advertisers Aug-Sep’20*

The report highlights that Out of Top 5 categories, all except Ecom-Media/Entertainment/Social Media were from FMCG sector during Aug-Sep’20*.HUL alone had more than 1/4th of Ad Volumes in Movies genre during Aug-Sep’20*. While the Top 5 categories and advertisers added 30% and 52% share of Ad Volumes respectively in Aug-Sep’20*.

Movies Genre: New^ Categories and Advertisers on TV: Aug-Sep’20* compared to Jun-Jul’20

With a total of 40+ New Categories & 260+ New Advertisers emerged in Movies genre during Aug-Sep’2020 compared to Jun-Jul’20. Laptops/Notebooks and Spotify India were top new category and advertiser during Aug-Sep’2020.

Movies Genre: Top Growing^ Categories & Advertisers: Aug-Sep’20* compared to Jun-Jul’20

In Out of Top 5 growing categories, highest growth observed in Household Cleaners category that is 2.5 times. Among the Top 5 growing advertisers, Perfetti Van Melle saw highest surge in Ad Volumes during Aug-Sep’20* compared to Jun-Jul’20.

Exclusive Categories and Advertisers in Movies genre: Aug-Sep’20*

With Digital Camera being the sole exclusive category on Movies Genre compared to all other genres during Aug-Sep’2020. Surya Food and Agro led the list of exclusive advertisers in the Movies genre followed by Mubi India on 2nd place.
