The year 2020 has been an eye-opener for businesses across the globe. It gave leaders a chance to introspect, re-adapt and re-strategize to weather the storm and keep business afloat. Innovations and leveraging digital were at the forefront of the ‘new normal’ and at Gaana we made sure our listeners get their daily dose of entertainment through our multitude of offerings, innovations, vast library and much more. The focus for Gaana as we enter 2021 will be on the following:

Focus on the Live Streaming and short video space: We recently launched Gaana Hotshots and Gaana Live and the response has been phenomenal. The short form / live video has seen a massive uptake owing to the engagement it offers for creators/singers and brands alike. Gaana with its vast reach will aim to leverage that and own the space

Increased regional content offering: We have been working relentlessly to work with music labels to distribute originals & relatable music content, GaanaOriginals that engages Indian audiences at scale. With this philosophy, we will continue to work on promoting regional music and getting our users access to the beautiful sounds of our many cultures. We have released many songs under Gaana Originals till date with many superhits like Lehanga, Gal Karke, Superstar, Kyon, Putt Jatt Da, Tera Ghata, etc. All these superhits prove that our catalogue has performed extremely well. Additionally, considering the uptake of regional on our platform, we plan to release more originals in regional languages like Bhojpuri, Haryanvi, Tamil & Telugu and as we move into new markets, we are bound to give chances to new artists. As part of the plan, we will explore different music genres and languages.

Driving value proposition for advertisers: As we aim to be the one-stop entertainment destination, our offerings present brands the opportunity to connect with their audiences. For this, we will be focussing on enhancing the integrations across our platforms and/or properties.

Leveraging Digital to its maximum potential: 2020 has shown the globe the power of digital media. The audio streaming industry also witnessed the numerous benefits of the internet. Live Virtual Concerts were held on a scale like never before. At Gaana the livestream of international singer Dua Lipa’s Studio 2054 concert drew over 150,000 audiences from all parts of the world. To ensure our subscribers don’t miss out on any of the fun, we will continue to lay strong emphasis on virtual concerts.
