Rajeev Devaraj has been appointed as the Executive Editor of Mathrubhumi News Channel.
Rajeev, who has more than two decades of experience in television journalism, is known for his political reporting and election coverings.
Before joining Mathrubhumi News, Rajeev was the Editor of Malayalam News Channel Mediaone TV. During his tenure with the channel, he was responsible for revamping and restructuring the channel content, which resulted in the channel becoming a better brand – especially on the digital platforms. He devised chat shows like Out of Focus, which garnered huge viewership.
He was the Editor at News 18 Keralam during 2016-2020 where he introduced a socially committed journalism model and played a critical role in transforming News 18 Keralam into a credible media house.
Rajeev has a decade-long tenure at Manorama News, where he served as the Southern Regional Chief. He conceptualised, produced and anchored the socio-political analytical program Parayathe Vayya for 4 years.
Prior to that, Rajeev has been associated with Malayalam News Channels like India Vision, Kairali TV and has also worked with Surya TV news bureau.
