The OTT space is becoming more competitive with days passing and staying relevant and purposeful is most critical

At Viacom18 Digital Ventures, we have been making efforts to create content that is relevant, unique and keeps our viewers engaged with innovative and immersive experiences. Since launch, Voot and Voot Select have received recognition equally from consumers and critics and we will continue to ride this wave while offering the best experience and content for our viewers.

Strengthening our position in the OTT space, we are defined to use our strengths through the following focus areas:

Regionalisation

The year 2021 has been the year where the language barrier has been broken across India; with audience increasingly consuming content in different languages. In the coming years, this trend will continue to grow and regional language consumption on OTT platforms will be on the rise. To be part of this ecosystem and to build a deeper connection as well as to reach out to every corner of the country, we have been putting efforts into regional storytelling and will continue to do so. Regionalisation of content will provide a path to adding more subscribers to our existing ones.

Localization

With an extensive library of content across genres that cater to a diverse set of audiences, the shows, movies at Voot and Voot Select are a blend of drama, thriller, romance, horror, comedy etc. To further increase our credibility, and enhance our brand’s visibility we will create an efficient pipeline of localized and original content across genres. Audiences today want to consume local experiences and stories which leads to relatability and better connection. Localization is certainly another way to go to win over viewers and continue to stay relevant among the competition.

Purpose Driven Content

The OTT space is becoming more competitive with days passing and staying relevant and purposeful is most critical. Given this scenario, having a purpose driven story telling approach is the way to go. Purpose-driven and personalized content will help in building a deeper relationship with the viewers. This will play a key differentiator as audiences are open to consuming content that helps them to think, challenge and change behaviours. Purpose-driven content can do wonders for a platform and leveraging our expertise and success in this area will offer our viewers with content that has the power to change minds, spread values, knowledge and positivity, enhancing the overall consumption experience.

Immersive and Inclusive Content

The past two years have accelerated the growth of OTT platforms. With faster and accessible internet in small towns and rural areas, OTT will remain the go-to source of entertainment for the audience. In the year 2022, we will continue to evolve and create inclusive content, reflecting the lives of people from all walks of life in India and the world. The aim will be at telling stories that are compelling, unique and creating immersive experiences for our viewers, and add content that is inclusive and appeals to all.

Having set milestones since its inception, Voot and Voot Select have been at the very forefront of curating clutter-breaking offerings for the masses of the country and we will continue to bring stories with unique and compelling narratives.
