The much-anticipated thriller series Suzhal – The Vortex started streaming on Amazon Prime from 17 June 2022.
From Tamil to Italian, the series was billed as one that would be made available in 30 Indian and international languages in 240 markets. It is also Prime Video’s first long-form scripted original series in Tamil.
The first season has eight episodes written and created by Vikram Vedha director duo Pushkar-Gayatri and directed by Bramma and Anucharan. It features R Parthiban, Aishwarya Rajesh, Kathir and Sriya Reddy in key roles.
According to Amazon Prime, “Suzhal – The Vortex is a crime thriller that goes beyond the routine investigation and threatens to shake up the cultural societal fabric, when a crime hits a small town, India. Set against the backdrop of a unique micro-festival, ancient myths collide with the troubling present as we are drawn into the eye of the storm.”
It’s not just the pitch that is intriguing, the reviews have turned out to be quite positive too.
So if you have a little over six hours this weekend and the thriller genre gets you going, Suzhal might just be the show to binge on.
