Mumbai: COLORS is all set to premiere its new social drama Dhaakad Beera on July 24 at 7:00 PM, airing daily, spotlighting the story of a young warrior who proves that not all heroes wear capes—some fight with love and innocence.
Dhaakad Beera brings to life the emotional journey of 8-year-old Samrat, played by Divyam Shukla, who vows to protect his newborn sister Kishmish from a world steeped in regressive traditions. When his dying mother entrusts him with the care of his sister, Samrat transforms into her guardian, becoming her parent, protector, and champion against an unjust society.
Set in a fictional village, the drama pits Samrat against his own family — particularly his grandmother, Bhanwari Devi, played by Rakshanda Khan, the iron-fisted matriarch who sees the baby girl as a threat to her legacy and control.
Speaking about her complex character, Rakshanda Khan shared, “I play Bhanwari Devi, the matriarch of a village, feared more than loved, respected more out of tradition than truth. But beneath her steely exterior lies a woman attached to her grandson, who is her pride and only soft spot… The arrival of Samrat’s newborn sister questions Bhanwari’s authority and her place in her grandson’s life. Children have a unique way of questioning what adults blindly accept, and this show captures that.”
With Samrat’s courage as the central force, Dhaakad Beera explores powerful themes of gender bias, familial bonds, and childhood bravery. The show is a poignant reminder that true strength can come from the smallest voices and most innocent hearts.
Witness the fight for love, life, and justice in Dhaakad Beera starting July 24, every day at 7:00 PM, only on COLORS.
