HDFC Life marks 25 years with Mahalaxmi metro station branding

Mumbai: Commuters travelling on Mumbai’s Metro Line 3 will now see a familiar name as they approach the Mahalaxmi metro station – HDFC Life.

HDFC Life, with its head office located in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai, has announced its association with the newly inaugurated Mahalaxmi metro station as part of its 25-year anniversary celebrations. The station, situated on the 33.5 km-long Cuffe Parade–Aarey JVLR corridor, is set to become a major transit hub in the city’s growing metro network.

Founded in 2000, HDFC Life, one of India’s leading life insurers, marks 25 years of ensuring financial protection for millions of Indians. The company draws parallels between its journey and that of metro commuters—steadily moving towards their goals while securing their futures.

Speaking at the inauguration of the HDFC Life Mahalaxmi metro station, Vibha Padalkar, Managing Director & CEO, HDFC Life, said, “HDFC Life’s journey as a life insurer started in the year 2000 from the city of Mumbai. Over the last 25 years, we have insured millions of policyholders across the country, protecting them financially and enabling them to continue their journey of life with pride. We are delighted to commemorate this special occasion of ’25 years of HDFC Life’ through our brand’s association with Mahalaxmi metro station. The Mumbai metro is the new lifeline of the city. We are proud to be associated with this new-age infrastructure milestone that will serve generations to come.”

Joining the celebrations was Anjali Bhagwat, former world number one shooter, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award recipient, and a proud Mumbaikar. Her journey, marked by discipline, determination, and preparedness, mirrors the values HDFC Life continues to uphold as it helps individuals plan for their life goals and protect their loved ones from uncertainties.

With a customer base of over 11 crore individuals (as of March 31, 2025, across individual and group business), HDFC Life continues to build financial awareness and encourage Indians to live a life of pride — staying true to its motto, “Sar utha ke jiyo.”

From securing lives to becoming a visible part of people’s daily journeys, HDFC Life celebrates 25 years of trust by connecting its legacy to the lifeline of Mumbai.
