Oneindia unveils ‘Viksit Bharat’ to simplify and humanize India’s development schemes

Mumbai: Oneindia has unveiled ‘Viksit Bharat’, a new government-focused content IP designed to simplify, humanize, and bring clarity to India’s flagship development schemes. The initiative aims to bridge the information gap around major public programs through verified, structured, and actionable storytelling tailored for citizens.

At the centre of the concept are two fictional characters:

  • Viksit, the young, curious nephew who represents ambitious Gen-Z India; and
  • Bharat, the wise chacha who embodies experience, cultural understanding, and institutional memory.

Presented through a fresh and engaging narrative, the format revolves around Viksit challenging his chacha to explain the “why” behind every major government initiative. Instead of viewing public schemes as routine government expenditure, he questions their purpose, impact, and relevance. Bharat responds by decoding the deeper intent behind these policies—how they empower citizens, drive development, and strengthen the nation’s long-term potential.

This dynamic exchange of curiosity and clarity forms the backbone of Viksit Bharat, enabling viewers to understand the rationale and real-world impact of key development programmes.

Each episode of Viksit Bharat focuses on a single government scheme, breaking it down into:

  • How the initiative benefits citizens
  • Real-world scenarios illustrating its application
  • Its economic and national significance

The series will premiere exclusively on Oneindia’s YouTube channel, which reaches 21.8 million subscribers, along with coverage on the Oneindia website, ensuring widespread access across regions and demographics.

In its first phase, Oneindia will release one episode every week, each unpacking a different government scheme and its on-ground impact. The debut episode is already live.

With this launch, Oneindia strengthens its commitment to high-impact public information content—aimed at empowering citizens, deepening civic literacy, and fostering a well-informed development narrative for India.
