Mumbai: JioHotstar is reinforcing its product, engineering and technology leadership as it builds the foundation for the next phase of AI-led, intelligent and personalised streaming at scale. As part of this strategic push, the platform has onboarded senior leaders from leading global and Indian technology companies, including Google, Flipkart, CRED, Amazon Pay, Razorpay, Myntra and ShareChat.
The senior appointments span discovery and personalisation, consumer marketing, viewer experience, AdTech, product management and platform engineering. These include Shrinivas SG joining as Senior Vice President – Discovery and Personalisation, Naveen Prashanth as Senior Vice President – Consumer Marketing, Abhishek Sharan as Senior Vice President – Engineering (Viewer Experience), Abhishek Varshney as Principal Engineer – AdTech, Chandru as Senior Vice President – Product Management along with Chandramauli Singh joining the product team and Nishant Paliwal strengthening platform engineering.
Shrinivas SG brings deep expertise in building large-scale search and discovery platforms. Prior to joining JioHotstar, he was with Flipkart, where he worked across search, catalog and trends, and played a key role in developing GenAI-powered conversational commerce solutions, with a focus on vernacular, voice and video-led discovery.
Strengthening consumer growth and engagement, Naveen Prashanth joins from Google, where he led marketing for YouTube Shorts, Creators and Artists in India, driving brand, performance and monetisation initiatives at scale. Earlier, he worked with McKinsey & Company, partnering with FMCG and B2C organisations on growth and transformation programmes.
On the engineering front, Abhishek Sharan brings over 15 years of experience building and scaling high-traffic consumer platforms. Before joining JioHotstar, he held leadership roles across the Flipkart Group and Myntra, working on systems spanning search, recommendations, applications, advertising platforms, and trust and safety. Most recently, he served as Head of Engineering at SuperMoney.
Further strengthening advertising and monetisation technology, Abhishek Varshney joins from CRED, where he spent nearly five years building products across payments, ordering and financial engineering. His earlier experience includes working on application platforms at Razorpay and infrastructure platforms at Flipkart.
The product and engineering leadership bench is also bolstered by Chandramauli Singh and Nishant Paliwal, who join from ShareChat and Cleartrip respectively, bringing experience in recommendation systems, scalable platform architectures and user engagement frameworks for large-scale consumer products.
As part of earlier leadership announcements, David Zakkam joined JioHotstar to lead analytics and data strategy, driving data-led decision-making across the platform. In addition, the JioStar Group recently appointed Emmy Award-winner Stephen Bugaj as Senior Vice President – GenAI Content & Technology, reinforcing its focus on intelligent content pipelines, interactive storytelling formats and scalable creative frameworks.
With these appointments, JioHotstar aims to deepen its capabilities across discovery, engagement, monetisation and platform engineering, as streaming continues to evolve towards more responsive, personalised and intelligence-led user experiences.
