Mumbai: Unilever has appointed Reema Jain as Chief Information Officer (CIO), marking her return to the FMCG major after a previous leadership stint. Jain announced the development in a LinkedIn update, describing the move as an opportunity to accelerate the role of artificial intelligence and technology in shaping the business.
An experienced IT and digital transformation leader with over two decades of experience, Jain has led large-scale transformation programmes across global capability centres and country operations. Her areas of expertise span cloud computing, artificial intelligence, analytics and DevOps.
Jain was previously with Unilever from May 2016 to May 2021. Prior to rejoining the company in May 2025, she served for more than three years as Chief Information and Digital Officer at Hero MotoCorp. Her earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Vodafone and General Electric.
Beyond executive roles, Jain has also held governance positions. She served on the board of Hero MotoCorp Magneti Marelli Auto Limited, a joint venture between Hero MotoCorp and Marelli, and was a board observer at Ather Energy.
Her appointment comes as enterprises deepen investments in AI-led transformation and digital capability building, with CIO roles increasingly central to business strategy and innovation.
