Mumbai: Gunjan Srivastava, former CEO of BSH India and BSH UK & Ireland, has joined MIRC Electronics Ltd., the 45-year-old Indian consumer electronics company and owner of the iconic Onida brand, as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. He has been tasked with steering a strategic turnaround for the company and reviving the legacy brand’s position in the Indian market.
Srivastava spent nearly 12 years at BSH Home Appliances, where he began as CEO of BSH India before taking on the role of CEO for BSH UK & Ireland. During his tenure, he established and scaled operations, strengthened sales and service networks, and enhanced brand awareness across markets.
Announcing the development on LinkedIn, Srivastava said, “After almost 12 years at BSH Home Appliances, starting as the CEO of BSH India and finishing as CEO of BSH UK & Ireland, it’s time for me to move on to another very exciting turnaround entrepreneurial journey in transforming Mirc Electronics Ltd. in India.”
At MIRC Electronics, Srivastava’s immediate priority will be to revitalize the Onida brand, long known for its iconic “Neighbours envy, Owner’s pride” promise. Once a dominant player in India’s television and audio segments, Onida has faced stiff competition in recent years from both domestic and global brands in the rapidly evolving consumer electronics market.
Srivastava brings with him extensive experience across consumer marketing, sales, distribution, business management, strategy, and post-merger integration. Over the course of his career, he has worked with leading organisations including Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances, Sennheiser Electronics India, Philips Electronics India, and Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited.
His appointment comes at a time when legacy Indian consumer electronics brands are seeking to reposition themselves amid shifting consumer preferences, digital disruption, and intensifying competition. Industry observers will be watching closely to see how MIRC Electronics navigates its next phase under Srivastava’s leadership.
