Mumbai: Indus Towers Limited has appointed Venkatesh Tiwari as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026. The appointment is part of a planned leadership transition, with current COO Tejinder Singh Kalra set to retire on August 31, 2026. Tiwari will be part of the company’s Senior Management Personnel (SMP).
Tiwari brings nearly 28 years of leadership experience spanning e-commerce, telecommunications, consumer electronics, and logistics. He is known for driving large-scale business transformations, leading customer-focused teams, and managing complex operations across diverse sectors. His expertise includes P&L management, supply chain operations, sales and marketing, multi-modal transportation networks, and customer experience delivery.
Prior to joining Indus Towers, Tiwari was associated with Amazon, where he held multiple leadership roles and contributed to significant business growth. As Leader for Amazon Now, Seller Fulfilment, and third-party logistics (3PL) channels, he played a key role in launching quick commerce offerings in India and scaling ultra-fast delivery ecosystems. He also led initiatives across grocery operations, same-day delivery, and logistics networks, while previously managing middle-mile and last-mile operations for Amazon India.
During his tenure, Tiwari was instrumental in driving some of Amazon India’s key strategic initiatives, including expanding delivery coverage across the country and building one of the fastest quick-commerce launches within Amazon’s global network. His efforts contributed to enhancing delivery speed, reliability, and accessibility for a wide base of customers and sellers.
Earlier in his career, Tiwari held senior leadership roles at Samsung, Airtel, and Perfetti Van Melle, where he worked across operations, customer service, and sales and marketing functions, contributing to key business and operational advancements.
Tiwari holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra and an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
