Unilever has elevated long-time executive Pinkustar Borah to the position of Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Unilever International. In his new role, Borah will be based in Singapore.
The appointment marks a new chapter in Borah’s nearly two-decade journey with the Unilever group. Most recently, he served as Chief Digital and Information Officer – Personal Care and Customer Experience at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), where he was responsible for driving technology initiatives supporting the company’s personal care business while leading customer experience transformation across the organisation.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Borah reflected on his 19-year association with the company.
“Many people keep asking me, ‘Same company, so many years—aren’t you bored?’ My answer’s stayed the same: you change companies for growth and new experiences. But what if you could get both—plus lifelong relationships with people who become friends and mentors—without ever leaving?” he wrote.
Borah began his career with HUL in 2007 as an IT Executive in Assam. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions within the organisation, including a move to Bengaluru in 2013 as IT Business Partner and STA for Unilever Sri Lanka.
Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in advancing the company’s digital agenda, spearheading transformation initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups including employees, distributors, field sales teams and retail partners.
In his new international mandate, Borah is expected to lead digital and technology strategy for Unilever International, the company’s global business serving markets beyond its core operating countries.
