Mumbai: Deloitte India and South Asia Partners have reappointed Romal Shetty as Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte South Asia for a second four-year term, effective 1 April 2027. The reappointment follows an extensive nomination process conducted over the past few months, culminating in an affirmation vote by the firm’s partners.
Shetty, who assumed the role in April 2023, has overseen one of the strongest growth phases in Deloitte India’s history. During his tenure, Deloitte India has grown to become the sixth-largest member firm globally and the third-largest consulting practice worldwide, behind only the United States and the United Kingdom.
Under his leadership, the firm has also outlined an ambitious vision to become India’s largest professional services firm by 2028, supported by continued investments in technology, consulting, innovation and talent development.
As CEO for a second term, Shetty will continue to drive Deloitte India’s long-term growth agenda with a strategic focus on shaping the “Business of Tomorrow.” According to sources at Deloitte India, the firm’s next phase of growth will be anchored around AI-powered transformation, platform-led innovation, managed services, industry-specific solutions and geographic expansion into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities through its ‘Project Bharat’ initiative.
Deloitte India is also expected to deepen its investments in digital capabilities and talent development while transforming its business model to meet the evolving needs of clients across industries. The strategy is aimed at strengthening the firm’s market position and supporting its ambition of becoming India’s largest professional services firm by 2028.
