Mumbai: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Tiruppur District, has announced the appointment of Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder and Managing Director of TechnoSport, as Chairman for the year 2026–27.
Jhunjhunwala has been actively associated with CII Tiruppur District, previously serving as Vice Chairman, and has contributed to key industry initiatives aimed at strengthening the region’s manufacturing ecosystem, driving investments, and fostering collaboration across stakeholders.
A recognised expert in man-made fibres (MMF) and technical textiles, he also holds leadership roles across industry bodies. He currently heads the MMF Committee at the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association and serves as a Board Member at the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) and Wool Research Association (WRA), contributing to innovation, testing, and research within India’s textile sector.
Commenting on his appointment, Sunil Jhunjhunwala said, “Tiruppur has long been one of India’s most dynamic textile and apparel manufacturing clusters, driven by entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and strong export capabilities. As Chairman of CII Tiruppur District, I look forward to working closely with industry stakeholders to strengthen the ecosystem, support investments in emerging textile segments such as MMF and technical textiles, and further enhance Tiruppur’s competitiveness in global markets.”

TechnoSport is on track to achieve ₹600 crore in revenue in FY26, with projected sales of 25 million apparel units, positioning it among the largest players in the segment by volume. The company currently operates over 40 exclusive brand outlets and has a presence across more than 7,000 retail touchpoints nationwide, supported by a production capacity exceeding 3 lakh units per day.
