Mumbai: Dainik Bhaskar Group’s digital business arm, DB Digital, has announced the appointment of Piyush Thakur as Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, he will lead the advertising revenue function across the company’s web and app platforms and will report to Pathik Shah, CEO, DB Digital.
Piyush brings over 20 years of experience in digital sales and monetization. He joins DB Digital from Inshorts, where he spent nearly a decade as part of the founding leadership team and most recently served as Chief Revenue Officer. During his tenure, he played a key role in building a strong advertising business, working with leading brands such as Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, Coca-Cola, Amazon Prime, Samsung, and Apple. He has also held leadership roles at ESPN, Times Internet, and Info Edge.
DB Digital operates one of India’s fastest-growing news apps, with over 20 million monthly active users and more than 100 million downloads across Android and iOS platforms. Available in Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi, the app has consistently recorded high engagement and user retention. Until now, the company has focused on building a strong product and user base without monetizing through advertising.
