Mumbai: At a time when digital content is rapidly shaping young minds, a new initiative is on a mission to ensure that Bharat’s next generation grows up with stories rooted in their own rich heritage. Aithihaas — drawing its name from the Sanskrit word “Itihaas”, meaning “thus it happened” — is a first-of-its-kind platform designed to bring India’s civilizational legacy into engaging, contemporary digital experiences for children and young adults across multiple languages and platforms.

The platform focuses on exploring character franchises and stories from an expansive universe spanning the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, folklore, ancient science, and India’s legendary historical narratives — reimagined through modern formats such as AI-powered storytelling, animations, micro-plays, immersive short videos, gamified learning modules, quizzes, and interactive creative tools. In short, Aithihaas is built around one powerful idea: transcending the ancient to the future.

With over 40 crore children below the age of 15 in India, Aithihaas sees both a tremendous opportunity and a deep responsibility to create value-driven content that children can cherish for a lifetime — content that is not only entertaining but meaningful, inspiring, and culturally grounded.

Bharavi Kodavanti, National Award Winner and Co-Founder, Aithihaas, said, “Aithihaas is not just preserving history; it is reimagining it for future generations. Often History is mistaken as Heritage. History is what has happened over the years, Heritage is what you have been cherishing and carrying forward over the years. Bharat’s stories have traditionally been preserved through song, dance, and oral traditions. We are now adding technology to that timeless legacy. We have a clear road map. We can call this a cultural revolution. Our journey has just begun but it’s quite fast. We have been collaborating with Schools, NGOs, some of the prestigious premier organizations to explore all the creative as well as Technological possibilities. In few months from now, we will be visible to all.”

Using artificial intelligence as a creative accelerator, Aithihaas seeks to produce high-quality content that is contemporary, visually appealing, scalable, and accessible across platforms including YouTube, OTT platforms, web channels, social media, and immersive digital ecosystems. The venture also plans to expand into merchandise, licensing, and eventually develop its own specialised AI models tailored for heritage-driven content creation.

Based out of Hyderabad, Aithihaas is founded and backed by experienced professionals from diverse domains spanning media and entertainment, information technology, life sciences, and management. By blending culture with innovation, the platform envisions building a vibrant ecosystem where learning Indian heritage becomes exciting, interactive, and emotionally meaningful for the digital generation — one story at a time.
