Hyderabad: The Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIB) has elevated Krishan Dev Nidumolu to the role of Vice President, Information Security and Data Protection Officer, recognizing his contributions to strengthening the security and privacy framework of one of the country’s most critical insurance-sector institutions.
In his new role, Nidumolu will lead information security and privacy initiatives for data flowing across more than 60 insurers within India’s insurance ecosystem. His responsibilities place him at the forefront of the industry’s compliance efforts under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) and the regulatory requirements of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Under his leadership, IIB has been advancing its security and privacy architecture through the adoption of a Zero Trust framework, an approach that treats every request, system and data flow as untrusted by default and verifiable by design. The initiative is aimed at enhancing resilience against evolving cyber threats while ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding sensitive policyholder information.
Prior to assuming this leadership position, Nidumolu built extensive experience as a systems engineer with leading global organizations. His expertise spans cybersecurity, technology operations, data protection, and regulatory compliance, enabling him to address the increasingly complex cyber risk challenges facing the insurance sector.
The elevation underscores IIB’s ongoing commitment to building a resilient, privacy-first data infrastructure that supports insurers while protecting policyholder interests. As regulatory scrutiny intensifies and cyber threats continue to evolve, robust leadership in information security and privacy remains critical to maintaining trust across the insurance ecosystem.
Commenting on the development, the organization noted that colleagues, partners, and stakeholders across the industry are invited to join in congratulating Krishan Dev Nidumolu on this well-deserved elevation, and in wishing him and the entire IIB team continued success as they strengthen and secure India’s insurance ecosystem for the next decade and beyond.
