Mumbai: Omnicom Media India has been appointed as the digital marketing partner for State Bank of India (SBI) following a competitive pitch process, according to industry sources.
The mandate, estimated to be valued between INR 250 crore and INR 260 crore, is among the largest digital media accounts in India’s banking and financial services sector, underscoring the growing importance of digital-led customer engagement in the country’s largest public sector bank.
Under the mandate, Omnicom Media India will oversee SBI’s digital marketing initiatives across platforms, audiences and consumer touchpoints. The partnership comes as the bank continues to accelerate its digital transformation efforts and strengthen engagement with customers through data-driven and technology-enabled marketing strategies.
Industry sources indicate that Omnicom Media India will leverage its suite of audience intelligence, data and technology capabilities, including Omni and Acxiom, to support SBI’s evolving business and marketing objectives. The agency is expected to focus on delivering enhanced audience targeting, performance optimisation and personalised customer engagement at scale.
The appointment represents a significant win for Omnicom Media India and further strengthens its footprint in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector, a category that continues to witness increasing investments in digital media and customer acquisition.
SBI, India’s largest lender by assets, has been steadily expanding its digital ecosystem through platforms, mobile banking services and technology-driven customer experiences. As consumer interactions increasingly shift online, the bank has been investing in digital channels to enhance brand visibility, customer acquisition and service adoption across urban and rural markets alike.
