Mumbai: Ageas Federal Life Insurance (AFLI) has announced the elevation of two senior leaders, Srijani Haldar and Amitava Panigrahi, to head its Independent Marketing Firm (IMF) and Bancassurance businesses respectively, reinforcing the company’s commitment to leadership development and strengthening its distribution network.
Srijani Haldar elevated as National Head – IMF
As part of the leadership changes, Srijani Haldar has been elevated to the role of National Head – IMF, while Amitava Panigrahi has been appointed National Head – Bancassurance. The appointments reflect AFLI’s focus on accelerating growth across key distribution channels and deepening customer reach across the country.
In her new role, Haldar will spearhead the company’s national IMF strategy, driving partner acquisition, distribution expansion and revenue growth across India.
With more than 23 years of experience in the life insurance industry, Haldar brings deep expertise in sales, distribution, business strategy, sales training and partner relationship management. A 2003 MBA graduate from Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, she has successfully led large banking relationships, driven channel growth and built high-performing teams across multiple business functions.
Over the course of her career, she has held leadership positions at Axis Max Life Insurance, PNB MetLife India Insurance, Aegon Life Insurance and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. She is recognized for her strengths in people development, strategic planning, partner management, on-the-job coaching and revitalising underperforming channels and business verticals.
At AFLI, Haldar has played a significant role in strengthening partner engagement and driving business growth. In her expanded role, she will focus on broadening the company’s IMF footprint and driving sustainable growth through the channel.
Amitava Panigrahi elevated as National Head – Bancassurance
Meanwhile, Panigrahi’s elevation to National Head – Bancassurance underscores AFLI’s commitment to strengthening one of its most important distribution businesses.
With over 26 years of experience across banking, financial services and fintech, Panigrahi has been instrumental in driving AFLI’s bancassurance distribution strategy and nurturing key partnerships that have contributed significantly to the company’s growth and transformation journey.
He brings extensive expertise in business growth, profit and loss management, sales and distribution excellence, bancassurance partnerships, digital transformation and strategic leadership across India and GCC markets.
Throughout his career, Panigrahi has successfully built and scaled high-performing businesses, led large-scale transformation initiatives and developed multi-channel distribution ecosystems. His strong track record in driving sustainable growth and forging strategic partnerships positions him well to lead AFLI’s bancassurance business into its next phase of expansion.
In his new role, Panigrahi will focus on strengthening bancassurance partnerships, enhancing distribution capabilities and driving customer-centric growth initiatives aimed at expanding market reach and deepening customer trust.
Sunil Bhat elevated as National Head – Broking
Ageas Federal Life Insurance (AFLI) has also elevated Sunil Bhat as National Head – Broking. With over 31 years of experience, including more than two decades in the insurance industry, he brings strong expertise in broking, bancassurance, sales leadership, and distribution management. Having held key roles at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, and SBI Life Insurance, Sunil will now focus on strengthening broker partnerships, expanding AFLI’s broking network, and driving growth across the channel.
