Mumbai: Famous Innovations, one of India’s most awarded independent creative companies, has announced the appointment of Senthil Kumar as Managing Partner & Chief Creative Officer, Bengaluru. In a move that signals the agency’s growth ambitions, Senthil joins not only in a leadership role but also as a partner in the business.
Widely recognised as one of Indian advertising’s most celebrated creative leaders, Senthil brings more than 25 years of experience across JWT and its successor networks Wunderman Thompson and VML, where he most recently served as Chief Creative Officer for a decade.
Known in industry circles as the “Lion Hunter” — a title earned after winning India’s first Gold Lions in Film and Film Craft at Cannes in 2009 — Senthil has built an extensive body of award-winning work over his career. His achievements include 27 Cannes Lions, 24 D&AD Pencils, multiple One Show Gold Pencils and more than 300 international recognitions across campaigns created for brands including Nike, Levi’s, Google, Pepsi, The Times of India, Unilever, Tata and Star Sports.
His move to Famous Innovations marks a notable shift from global agency networks to an entrepreneurial ownership model, reflecting a long-standing inclination toward building businesses and shaping creative cultures.
Speaking on his appointment, Senthil Kumar, Managing Partner & CCO, Bengaluru, said, “Famous has always been a maverick — independent, fearless and built on the belief that a great idea can come from anywhere and go everywhere. I’m not here to run a creative department; I’m here to build, as a partner and an owner, and to make work that doesn’t just win in the room but moves the world outside it.”
Commenting on the development, Raj Kamble, Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Famous Innovations, said, “Senthil and I have each spent 25 years chasing the same thing — ideas that make people feel something. What excites me most is that he joins us as a partner, an entrepreneur, an owner who will build a business the way only a founder can. That hunger to build, and not just to make ads, is exactly what Famous is made of. Watch this space.”
