OZiva says consumer confidence comes before product launch in new acne campaign

Mumbai: OZiva, a clean and plant-based wellness and beauty brand, has announced the launch of its Acne Spot Corrector. This is a clinically studied, 100% plant-powered actives solution designed to act on active acne within 24 hours without drying or damaging the skin barrier. But before the product reached consumers, the brand put it through a different kind of test.

Built around the thought ‘If She Says No, We Don’t Launch’, OZiva partnered with acne advocate Prableen Kaur Bhomrah, inviting her to test the product before launch and encouraging 100 members of her community to experience it alongside her. Instead of leading with advertisements and endorsements, the brand chose to earn consumer trust first—making honest feedback a prerequisite to launch.

Sharing her experience, Prableen Kaur Bhomrah, said, “For anyone who has dealt with acne, skincare is never just about products; it is about trust. What stood out to me about this campaign was the freedom to share my honest experience without filters or scripted messaging. My community has always valued authenticity, especially when it comes to conversations around acne and skin confidence. It was refreshing to see a brand willing to place consumer trust above traditional marketing. That openness is what made this collaboration meaningful, and I believe it reflects what today’s beauty consumers are looking for.”

The campaign reflects OZiva’s larger belief that acne consumers are no longer looking for marketing claims alone—they want clinically proven efficacy backed by transparency. It also comes at a time when consumers are increasingly questioning conventional acne solutions, which often rely on harsh acid-based actives like salicylic acid that can leave skin dry and compromise the skin barrier.

Dr Ratna Upadhyay, Sr. Manager R&D at OZiva said “With OZiva Spot Corrector, our goal was to develop a next-generation acne correction formula that addresses the multiple biological drivers of acne, including excess sebum production, inflammation, follicular congestion, microbiome imbalance, and post-acne pigmentation. Clinically benchmarked against conventional salicylic acid-led acne care, the OZiva Acne Care + Spot Corrector contains plant actives which has demonstrated 60% acne reduction in four weeks versus approximately 23.8% with conventional salicylic acid benchmarks, along with up to 58% reduction in sebum overproduction and 15% improvement in skin hydration, reinforcing that acne correction does not have to come at the cost of skin comfort.”

Importantly, the product was clinically evaluated on Indian acne-prone skin, where it demonstrated a 25.72% reduction in overall acne severity within just seven days, with 100% of participants, both men and women, showing visible improvement. These results reinforce our belief that clinically validated plant science can deliver rapid, visible, and consumer-relevant outcomes while maintaining skin health, setting a new benchmark for evidence-based acne care.

With positive feedback from both the creator and participating users, the OZiva Acne Spot Corrector is now available across OZiva’s D2C platform, quick commerce channels and leading marketplaces, giving consumers access to a solution that earned confidence before it reached the shelf.
