Chennai : As per the fourth week ratings of the South GECs, Tamil Nadu and AP market witnessed a drop in ratings, while other South Markets didn’t see major changes.
In Tamil Nadu, all regional channels recorded a significant drop in their ratings in week 4. Sun TV recorded 224,920 GVTs this week compared with 267,930 the previous week. Vijay’s ratings slipped to 70,651 GVTs from 101,455. Polimer’s ratings dropped marginally to 22,364 GVTs from 23,655. Zee Tamil recorded 21,088 GVTs in week 4 compared with 25,035 in week 3. Raj TV’s ratings slipped to 18,149 GVTs from 21,739. Kalaignar TV’s ratings plummeted to 17,076 GVTs from 33,979. Jaya TV also saw its ratings fall to 13,094 GVTs from 21,216. Mega TV’s ratings declined partially to 5388 GVTs from 5422 in week 3.
In Kerala Market, Asianet’s ratings surged to 58,452 GVTs in week 4 from 55,404 in week 3, Mazhavil Manorama managed to retain its No. 2 despite witnessing a marginal drop to 16602 GVTs in week 4 from 16735 GVTs in week 3, while Surya TV also dropped to 14,172 GVTs from 15,689 the last week. Asianet Plus also saw its ratings drop to 4326 GVTs from 5034 a week ago. Kairali TV’s ratings dipped to 3427 GVTs from 5388, while Amrita TV also witnessed a significant fall in its ratings. Its ratings dropped to 1748 GVTs from 3402 in week 3.
Among news channels in Kerala Market Manorama News stood at strong No. 1 with 703 GVTs, followed by Asianet News with 606 GVTs, Reporter with 359 GVTs, Mathrubhumi News with 269 GVTs and People with 196 GVTs.
In Andhra Pradesh, Gemini TV’s ratings plummeted to 89,171 GVTs from 121,600 making the channel to fall from No.1 to No.4 among GECs in AP Market. MAA TV became market topper despite its ratings dropped marginally to 101,388 GVTs in week 4 from 112,406 in week 3. ETV’s ratings increased to 91,440 GVTs compared with 90,722 in week 3. Zee Telugu also witnessed a significant drop in its ratings that pushed the channel to No. 3 spot, the channel recorded 90,376 GVTs compared with 107,621 a week ago.. Vissa TV also saw its viewership fall to 134 GVTs from 177 the last week.
In Karnataka, Udaya channel recorded its viewership rise to 84,090 GVTs in week 4 from 77,421 GVTs in week 3. ETV Kannada’s ratings increased to 56,894 GVTs from 50,505 a week earlier. Suvarna’s ratings declined to 45,918 GVTs from 50,208 the previous week. Zee Kannada’s ratings increased to 37,068 GVTs from 33,965 the last week. Kasthuri TV also saw its ratings fall to 7392 GVTs this week from 8681 in week 3.
