After the takeover of the Network 18 group by Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries, speculations were rife that both IBN18 editor-in-chief Rajdeep Sardesai and his wife Sagarika Ghose would quit.
Last week Ghose made her exit announcement from CNN IBN on microblogging site Twitter. She was the deputy editor of CNN IBN. “Goodbye CNN IBN. God bless,” she tweeted. Two days later Rajdeep also announced his resignation in Twitter. He also wrote an emotional mail to his coleagues in CNN IBN.
Headlines Today has recently attracted senior journalists Shekhar Gupta for India Today and Karan Thapar for Headlines Today. Sardesai continues to maintain silence amid rumours that he also would quit very shortly.
The journalist couple had gone on leave last month. Ghose has been a journalist for over 23 years. She has worked with The Times of India, Outlook magazine and The Indian Express.
Was this the reason why of late Rajdeep and Sagarika were lacking the power in there News Time in CNN IBN…? It will be interesting to see where they will be heading next as there is no information on their next move.
This is one good example that performance always speaks more than credibility.
