Chennai : Doordarshan Podhigai, the Tamil Regional Channel from the public broadcaster Doordarshan has positioned itself to compete with its Satellite peers by jumping in to the digital war, by launching the Live Streaming of the channel.
Doordarshan Podhigai is already available in Terrestrial and Satellite Medium and with the launch in Online Medium, DD Podhigai becomes only channel available in all formats of Broadcast Medium.
The Live Streaming of DD Podhigai can be watched on its official website www.ddpodhigai.org.in by selecting the LIVE TV option in its main menu bar. The channel will be played in a default player which can be adjusted according to the convenience of the viewers.
The Live Streaming of DD Podhigai was launched yesterday evening in a function organised in the premises of Doordarshan Chennai office and Shri M Anandan, DDG (E) has inaugurated the renewed website with Live Streaming of Programs of the channel. The Inauguration was attended by CN Ramachandran – Head of Programming, E Mariappan & M Annadurai – News Directors and Karuppiah – Deputy Director (AR) in presence of the Programming and Engineering Staff of DD Podhigai.
DD Podhigai Live Streaming can be viewed in all platform like Desktop, Tablet, Smartphones freely without any charges. Sources from Doordarshan confirm that the development was part of the modernisation drive initiated by the NDA govt and I&B Ministry.
