Mumbai: Digital insurance company Acko has elevated Nitin Khanna to the role of Chief Marketing Officer, marking a key leadership transition as the company continues to scale its brand and consumer outreach in India’s competitive insurtech market. Khanna’s elevation follows a more than seven-year journey within the organisation, where he held multiple senior marketing roles, most recently serving as Vice President – Marketing since October 2023. Over the years, he has played an integral role in shaping Acko’s marketing function and driving its growth agenda. In his new role, Khanna will lead brand strategy, consumer engagement, and growth marketing initiatives as the company sharpens its positioning in the digital insurance space.
Khanna brings with him a diverse background across consumer technology and travel platforms. Prior to Acko, he spent over three years at Ola, where he led marketing for categories such as Ola Share and Ola Auto, driving integrated campaigns across channels and contributing to the scaling of shared mobility services across 30-plus cities. He also worked with MakeMyTrip, managing online display and affiliate channels, and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in consulting roles focused on analytics and reporting solutions.
The leadership change comes as Ashish Mishra steps down from his role as Chief Marketing Officer after nearly six years with the company. Mishra, who served as CMO from August 2020 to April 2026, was instrumental in shaping Acko’s brand identity during a crucial phase of growth in India’s digital insurance ecosystem. Prior to Acko, he spent over a decade at HSBC in the UAE, holding several senior marketing roles across cards, loans, mortgages, and digital channels. He also had earlier stints at Lowe Lintas and DDB Mudra Group in brand and communications.
During his tenure at Acko, Mishra played a key role in driving marketing innovation and thought leadership, including initiatives such as Acko Life’s “Unmixed” brand philosophy, which emphasised pure protection over traditional investment-linked insurance products. His contributions have been central to building Acko’s distinct voice in a rapidly evolving category.
With Khanna now at the helm of marketing, Acko is expected to continue strengthening its brand narrative, deepen consumer engagement, and accelerate growth as it navigates the next phase of expansion in India’s digital-first insurance landscape.
