ADFEST has unveil a bold, vibrant identity designed by Kinetic Singapore and inspired by the theme of ADFEST 2018, ‘Transform’.
Kinetic Singapore was co-founded by its Creative Director, Pann Lim, one of Singapore’s most celebrated designers. Conceptually, he says the 2018 ADFEST identity is inspired by the process of transforming one thing into another: a process that’s often vague, transcending time and space.
“We chose to express this idea of ‘transformation’ in the form of a gradient, where the blurring of colours represents the melding and evolution of ideas,” explains Lim, who was Jury President of Design Lotus and Print Craft Lotus at ADFEST 2017.
Lim also helms gallery space K+ and a family art collective called Holycrap.sg, plus Rubbish Famzine, a zine he makes with his kids, which has a global cult following. He has won over 450 industry awards locally and abroad, including Singapore’s highest design accolade, the President’s Design Award in 2013 and 2015.
Jimmy Lam, President of ADFEST, says: “Never has ADFEST has a brighter, vibrant or more distinctive identity, which is perfectly suited to next year’s theme, ‘Transform’. We have a tradition at ADFEST of inviting the previous Jury President of Design and Print Craft to design the ADFEST logo the following year. It is an honour that one of Singapore’s most acclaimed designers is behind the 2018 ADFEST identity. We’d like to thank Pann and his team for their hard work and passion for bringing our new identity to life.”
ADFEST 2018 runs from 21-24 March at the PEACH Royal Cliff Resort, Pattaya. Entries to the ADFEST 2018 Lotus Awards are now open.
