Trivandrum: Malayalam general entertainment channel Asianet has lined up a special two-week programming schedule comprising comedy shows, films, music-based shows , interviews, cockery shows and other specials on the occasion of this Onam season.
In addition to exclusive programmes with popular actors like Vikram, Mohanlal, Dilip, Jayaram, Kavya Madhavan, Kunchacko Biban and Manoj K Jayan one of the major highlights of Asianet’s Onam 2015 offerings is eight movie premieres.
On 13 September, also known as ‘Uthradam Day’, the channel will premiere four films including ‘Kammattipadam’ at 9:30 am, followed by ‘Premam’ at 1:30 pm and ‘Kali’ at 4 pm. In the evening, the channel will telecast ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ at 7 pm.
Other programmes on ‘Uthradam Day’ include exclusive programme “Maninattil Ponninam”, based on memories of Late Kalabhavan Mony. Anchor / lead by Tini Tom & Pakru with the support of performers like Nadan Pattu at 7am , ‘Poovili – a programme based in the songs from Onam released movies at 7.30am , Comedy fiction with popular serial artistes “Ee Kollam Onamilla” at 9 am and a comedy telefilm of leading television artistes ‘Ambum Villum’ at 1 pm.
The next day (14 September), auspiciously known as ‘Thiruvonam Day’, will commence with a family fiction based on the Onam festival, performed by leading serial artists “ 6 piece pizza “ at 9am.
Movies for the day include “Vismayam” at 9:30 am, “Adi Kapyare Koottamani” at 1 pm, “Action Hero Biju” at 4 pm and “Two Countries” at 7 pm.
The line-up of special programmes includes Sneak preview of new Box Office releases “Onachithrangal” at 7:00 am, the special comedy tele film “Puthooran Puthran Unnikuttan” at 12.30pm and onam special programme “Asianet Ponnona Poovili” at 1.00pm.
The other special programmes on Onam week, Special Cookery Show focusing on traditional Onam recipes by celebrities “ Onaruchimelam “ ( all Saturdatys at 1.00pm ) , one hour show by Kottayam Nazir- one man show with mimicry performances “Star / super star mimic / action imitations,Comedy Elements and chat with celebrity along with dance/songs “ Enganeyundu Ashane “ ( all Sundays at 2.30pm ), Comedy capsules centered around Onam themes and social satire,presented by Mimicry /Cine Artistes Saju Navodya and Noby “Onapperi “ ( 29 Aug to 9 Sept. – Monday to Friday ) . special game featuring leading serial artistes : Onappooram “ ( Sept. 5 to Sept.9 at 4.30pm ) and musical Game show anchored by Nadirsha “ Rock & Roll “ ( Sept.11 to 14 at 8am )
Asianet Plus Specials:
Meanwhile, Asianet’s sister channel Asianet Plus will also air special programmes to ring in the festivities of Onam.
The channel will showcase exclusive interviews with leading artistes in onam weeks.
On Uthradam Day, the channel will air programmes includes “Gurudakshina” at 8am, humorous chat show “Chiriyude thirovonavattom” at 8.30am, a chat show between beloved actor Jagathi Sreekumar & comedy stars team consists of judges Jagadish, Rimi Tomy & Swetha along with 28 contestants “Jagathi Sreekumarum Comedikkarum” at 10.30am, comedy telefilm “Lukymonde Ezham Thiruvonam” at 11am, “Onachithrangal” at 11.30am, telefilm “Gafoor Ka dosth” at 3pm, a humorous game with serial artistes “Thattukadayile Aluvayum mathiyum” at 9.30pm and telefilm “Kodachakram” at 10pm.
‘Thiruvonam Day’, will commence with an exclusive Onam special programme “ Anamalayile Anappan “ , a humorous programme based on game and puzzles between serial \ comedy artistes mediated by actor Baburaj at 3.00pm.
Other programme includes “ Thiruvonappulari” at 6.30am, a tribute to Kalabhavan Mani “Mani Kilungatha Onanilavu” at 8.30am, music chat show featuring M.Jayachandran, Sithara, Vidhu Prathap etc “Nadanpattile Onachantham” at 9am, a chat show between Kunchacko Boban, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sudheesh etc “Kochupouloyude Onam” at 10am , a fun based show “Avatharakkarum Avatharangalum” at 11am and “Comedy Starsum Vidhikarthakkalum” at 11.30am.
The network’s movie channel Asianet Movies will air special programmes for the festival including celebrity interviews and a bouquet of movies including “China Town”, “Nagaravaridi Naduvil Njan”, “Female Unnikrishnan”, “Sringaravelan” and “Monayi angane anayi” on ‘Uthradam Day’.
On Thiruvonam Day, the channel will air “Happy Husbands”, “ABCD”, “Thinkal Muthal Vellivare”, “Gods own country” and “Acha Din”.
