Cochin : While Ground event of Asianet film awards 2015 was completed successfully on 11th January, it was accompanied by many film awards in the season in Kerala Market, as almost every Malayalam GEC has celebrated the film awards recently. Surya TV has aired SIMA awards and Amrita TV Film awards 2015 and Kairali TV’s Asiavision film awards 2014 were already aired recently and Mazhavil Manoram is gearing up for Vanitha Film Award 2015 shortly.
The star studded event of 17th Ujala Asianet Film Awards 2015 function held on Sunday 11th Januray 2015 at 6.00 P.M onwards at Port Trust Stadium, Willingdon Island, Kochi. witnessed the participation of all the major actors and actress of Mollywood and other languages. The star studded event is likely to be aired on 24th and 25th January 2015.
Asianet every year honours the artists, technicians and talents from the Malayalam films released in the previous year and this year the Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor , Best Actress and talents in many other categories from the movies released in 2014 were honoured in the prestigious event.
The Best Film award was given to Iyobinte Pusthakam and Anjali Menon was adjudged as the Best Director for Bangalore days. Ace Actor Mammootty was awarded as the best actor for ‘Varsham’, while Actress Manju Warrier was declared as the Best Actress for ‘How Old are You’
Jayasurya won the award for the best actor in a villain role. Suraj Venjarammoodu won the best comedian award. The best script writer award was handed over to Gopan Chidambaram and Beena Paul won the award for best editing.
Gopi Sundar was declared as the Best Music Director for the year while Rafeeq Ahammed was presented the award for best lyricist. Haricharan was presented the award as the best male playback singer. His female counterpart, Shweta Mohan was adjudged as the best female playback singer. The best new face award was granted to Nikki Galrani.
Latest updates from Asianet has confirmed that the channel has decided to telecast the event on the evenings of 24th and 25th January 2015, which happen to be a Saturday and Sunday.
