New York: In a landmark recognition for Indian advertising, Piyush Pandey, widely regarded as the father of modern Indian advertising and former Executive Chairman of Ogilvy India, has been named among the 2026 inductees into the prestigious Creative Hall of Fame by The One Club for Creativity, one of the world’s leading non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting and celebrating the global creative community.
Pandey is being honoured for transforming Indian advertising by bringing the language, humour, cultural nuances and everyday experiences of India into mainstream brand storytelling. Over several decades, his work has helped redefine how brands connect with consumers, creating campaigns that are rooted in authenticity and cultural relevance.
The Creative Hall of Fame, which traces its origins to the induction of legendary advertiser Leo Burnett in 1961, recognises individuals whose work has had a lasting impact on the creative industry through innovation, influence and mentorship.
Joining Pandey in this year’s Creative Hall of Fame class are some of the most influential names in global advertising and design. The inductees include Rosie Arnold, one of the most awarded art directors in British advertising history; Janet Champ, the Wieden+Kennedy copywriter behind Nike’s iconic “If You Let Me Play” campaign; John C Jay, known for shaping global brands including Nike and Uniqlo through culturally driven creativity; Caroline R. Jones, a trailblazing copywriter and the first Black female vice-president at a major advertising agency; and Joyce King Thomas, the creative leader behind Mastercard’s globally acclaimed “Priceless” campaign.
In addition, Michael Conrad, former Global Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide and co-founder of the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, will be inducted into the Educators Hall of Fame for his contributions to developing future generations of creative leaders.
The selection process for The One Club Creative Hall of Fame is considered one of the industry’s most rigorous. Nominations are submitted by members and evaluated by The One Club’s National and International Boards, along with previous Hall of Fame inductees. Candidates are assessed based on three key criteria: impact, influence and inspiration.

Commenting on this year’s inductees, Pum Lefebure, One Club Chair and Co-founder & Chief Creative Officer, Design Army, said, “The people we honor this year didn’t just create iconic work—they changed the trajectory of our industry. Their ideas reshaped culture, their leadership opened doors for others, and their impact continues to ripple across generations. We are proud to recognize these creative pioneers whose influence extends far beyond the work itself.”
The 2026 Creative Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on September 16 at Capitale in New York. The black-tie gala will celebrate the achievements of the latest group of creative pioneers whose work has left a lasting mark on advertising, design, education and culture.
For India, Pandey’s induction represents another significant milestone on the global stage, recognizing not only his extraordinary career but also the growing influence of Indian creativity in shaping global advertising narratives.
