Kolkata: Bandhan Bank has launched “Cyber Cop”, a nationwide cyber awareness campaign under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, in association with filmmaker Rohit Shetty. The initiative aims to promote safer digital behaviour and equip citizens to respond more effectively to the growing threat of cyber fraud.
The campaign comes at a time when cybercrime continues to rise across India. According to government-linked data, losses reported through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal reached around ₹22,495 crore in 2025, with more than 24 lakh complaints recorded during the year.
Through “Cyber Cop”, the bank seeks to simplify cyber safety through awareness films, public outreach and educational messaging, encouraging people to adopt the simple behavioural mantra — “Pause. Verify. Report.” The campaign also urges citizens to report cybercrime incidents through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and the 1930 helpline.
As part of the initiative, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has joined the campaign to expand its reach, leveraging the popularity of his well-known ‘cop universe’ to reinforce the message that cyber threats have become a part of everyday digital life.
Bandhan Bank Spokesperson says, “Cyber fraud is one of the most pressing challenges in India’s digital ecosystem. With ‘Cyber Cop’, we aim to build awareness that helps people pause before they act, verify before they trust, and report promptly.”
The bank said the CSR initiative is aimed at supporting broader public awareness efforts and empowering individuals to make safer decisions while using digital financial services.
Cyber Cop is a CSR initiative by Bandhan Bank, presented by Hindustan Times and implemented by Aident Social Welfare Organisation. The initiative focuses on awareness, safe digital behaviour, and timely reporting of cyber fraud.
