BARC Wk 52: Sony becomes No.2 in Urban HSM; Zee Anmol continues to lead Rural and U+R

Mumbai : In line with the BARC data for the week 52 for the period between Saturday, 22nd December 2018 to Friday, 28th December 2018, while Star Plus continues its dominance in the HSM Urban category with 430 mn imps  Sony Entertainment Television with 424 mn imps, is seen emerging as the No.2 Hindi GEC in the Urban segment in week 52. Zee TV and Colors have stepped down to the No.3 and No. 4 positions with 410 mn imps  and 380 mn imps respectively. Rest of the Hindi GECs are seen retaining their week 51 rankings. Star Bharat 338 mn imps, Sony Sab 310 mn imps  and Star Utsav 191 mn imps  stand in the fourth, fifth and sixth slots respectively, while Sony Pal 160 mn imps, Zee Anmol 147 mn imps and &TV 139 mn imps have managed to retain their places this week.

Taking a look at the rankings of Hindi GECs in the Urban U+R category in week 52 the market has witnessed a shuffle in the ranking this week, while Zee Anmol 783 mn imps continues to lead the segment, Zee TV with 668 mn imps has overtaken Star Plus to occupy the runner up position this week, pushing away the latter to the 4th slot with 621 mn imps . Star Bharat has moved to the 3rd slot with 650 mn imps. Sony Entertainment Television has taken a leap from the 8th position last week to the 5th place this week with 581mn imps . Following Sony is Star Utsav that has ranked No.6 with 568 mn imps. While Colors stood at No.7 with 551 mn imps , Sony Pal 540 mn imps, Rishtey 464 mn imps and Dangal TV 460 mn imps are seen occupying the 8th, 9th and 10th places in the chart respectively.

On the other hand, the taking a look at the HSM rural segment, the market is seen undergoing  rearrangement of the ranking in week 52. Though the market leader Zee Anmol tops the chart with 640 mn imps, Sony Pal 388 mn imps has emerged as the runner up this week pushing away its rival Star Utsav to the 3rd slot with 378 mn imps. With 359 mn imps Dangal TV has managed to stay at the 4th place, while Star Bharat 313 mn imps has dropped to the 6th position giving away its last week’s place to Rishtey with 343 mn imps . Zee TV has retained its position in the 7th place with 258 mn imps while Big Magic has climbed to the 8th place with 209 mn imps pushing away Star Plus 191 mn imps to the 9th slot this week. Colors has settled in the 10th slot in the chart with 172 mn imps in week 52.
