Bindisha Sarang of Firstpost and Archana Shukla of CNBC-TV18 wins The Citi Journalistic Excellence Award 2017

Mumbai: Network18 is recognized for delivering insightful, in-depth and accurate news coverage to its large audience across demographics in India. Saluting that very spirit, Citi Journalistic Excellence Award (CJEA) 2017  bestowed Firstpost journalist, Bindisha Sarang with the award for her reporting on demonetization.

Another Network18 journalist, Archana Shukla of CNBC-TV18 was nominated in the coveted final five list for the CJEA 2017. Every year, the prestigious Award recognizes outstanding financial and business reporting, with entries coming in from all parts of India. The two accomplished journalists beat some of the top-most industry professionals to be nominated for the coveted Citi Journalistic Excellence Award.

Bindisha Sarang won the honour for her detailed report on why the calibrations of the ATMs with Rs.100 notes weren’t carried out before the demonetisation announcement in India. When the demonetisation buzz grabbed attention from around the globe on India’s economy and every publication covered the financial scenario, Bindisha’s insightful reporting coupled with quality research made her coverage truly stand out from the rest.
