New Delhi: CNN-News18 and IBN7, prominent general news channels in English and Hindi respectively from the Network18 Group outshined in viewership numbers on the day they aired the exclusive and most comprehensive interview of the Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
At the half-way mark of his tenure, the Prime Minister spoke about a range of important issues from politics to economy to sport in an exclusive interview with Network18.
Infact, CNN-News18 was more than double of Times Now and IBN7 was Number 1 across all news channels on the day when the exclusive interview was aired.
Here’s what the share of channels looks like:
- CNN-News18 (On the day of airing the interview-2ndSept’16): 55% viewership was garnered by CNN-News18 across six mega cities (Times Now clocked 20%)* while it was 44% in All India, Times Now being at 24%**
- IBN7: At the time the interview was aired (2ndSept’16, 21:00pm to 22:15 pm): IBN7 was Number 1 across all the 136 news channels reported by BARC. ***
