Mumbai: Divij Sharma has been appointed Head of Engagement at Amazon Prime Video. After a successful six-year stint leading Marketing and Insights for Amazon Alexa in India, Sharma now steps into a pivotal role where he will spearhead all engagement initiatives, with a sharp focus on driving membership growth and retention across the platform’s diverse and ever-expanding content library.
Over the past decade, Divij Sharma has emerged as a key force behind Amazon’s digital evolution in India. At Alexa, he led transformative marketing strategies that significantly shaped consumer interaction with smart devices. From the Echo series to Fire TV and third-party integrations, Sharma played a central role in enhancing the Alexa ecosystem’s adoption and usage.
During his tenure, Alexa’s India growth story was marked by the introduction of voice-based shopping, payments, and high-profile celebrity partnerships—innovations that redefined convenience and engagement for millions of users. Sharma’s efforts in building and executing customer lifecycle and monetization strategies helped deliver tangible business outcomes while making Alexa a household name.

An alumnus of the Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur, Sharma holds an MBA with a focus on marketing and strategy. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, further anchoring his strong technical and analytical foundation.
