DOMS celebrates National Ballpoint Pen Day with KidZania experience, launches brand film on the journey of writing

Mumbai: DOMS marked National Ballpoint Pen Day with a multi-layered campaign combining experiential engagement, product innovation and storytelling to celebrate the enduring relevance of handwriting and the emotional connection people continue to share with writing.

The initiative featured an immersive graphology-led experience for children at KidZania alongside the unveiling of a new brand film that reflects on the evolving role of the pen across generations.

As part of the celebration, children visiting KidZania participated in a special handwriting activity conducted by graphology expert Nishtha Savar. Using DOMS pens, participants wrote their names and short sentences, which were then analysed to offer simple personality insights through personalised Handwriting Personality Cards.

Designed to transform writing into an interactive and reflective experience, the initiative encouraged children to view handwriting not just as a classroom exercise but as a medium of individuality, creativity and self-expression.

Further adding to the experience, DOMS introduced its latest innovation — the DOMS INXGLO Pen — featuring a glow-in-the-dark writing experience aimed at making everyday writing more engaging for young users.

Complementing the on-ground engagement, the company also launched a brand film that traces the journey of a pen across different stages of life. Through a poetic narrative, the film follows a pen’s movement from a neighbourhood kirana store into the lives of students, professionals, parents and grandparents, capturing moments of learning, ambition, memory and connection.

The film portrays the pen as a constant companion through milestones including first words, school examinations, personal aspirations, everyday calculations, letters and cherished life moments, while reinforcing the continuing emotional significance of putting pen to paper in a digital-first world.

Speaking about the initiative, Saumitra Prasad, Chief Marketing Officer, DOMS Industries Ltd., said, “A pen is much more than a writing instrument. It is a silent companion to our thoughts, dreams, milestones, and memories. Through our National Ball Point Pen Day celebration, we wanted to remind people of the profound role a pen plays in every stage of life, while inspiring young minds to embrace the joy of writing.”

With a combination of immersive experiences, innovation and storytelling, DOMS continues to reinforce its commitment to nurturing creativity and encouraging future generations to rediscover the value and joy of handwriting.
