Television veteran Deepak Dhar who recently in 2019 started the South East Asian business of the French production giant Banijay with the name Banijay Asia as its Founder & CEO lists his 5 most important 5 points of Focus in 2020.
As per media reports there are speculations that Deepak Dhar will also lead the combined entity of Banijay and Endemol Shine in India in 2020 as Banijay has acquired Endemol globally. So 2020 is a big year for Deepak Dhar and Banijay Asia.

The main focus for expansion of Banijay Asia in 2020 would be further building on our hold on the entire premium scripted space. The expansion will include adaptions for anthologies, International formats, original scripts, etc. 2020 will revolve around cementing the footprint of Banijay Asia as the premium content creator focused for OTT players.
We are also looking to further expand in the South East Asian market and creating a mark with the best content. While focusing to expand in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia will also be a point.
In the linear TV space, Banijay Asia would strive to establish tentpole formats in our partnership with GroupM, an advertiser funded programme we have entered this year. The markets are going to see a lot more from Banijay – GroupM partnership in 2020.
With our expansive relationships across talent (writer, director, actors) we plan to create the best concepts for direct to digital films, the first of which is Tribhanga with Netflix, produced with Ajay Devgn films and Alchemy Productions, starring Kajol and directed by Renuka Shahane.
With the most recent announcement made by us about our collaboration with Bear Grylls and Delbert Shoopman, in 2020, we plan on introducing the Indian market to adventure-thriller as a genre and explore it further by making multiple pieces of content. Eventually, creating a massive space for this unique content category is one of our major Focus points in 2020.
