Larger Distribution by being available on Multiple Devices
As Hoichoi completes two years of business operations, one of the Focus points for the 3rd year is ensuring seamless availability of Hoichoi content on multiple devices; especially on TV screens.
Hoichoi is already available on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and Roku App. Mi TV is a recent addition to their repertoire. We have still been getting requests from our users to be available on additional devices like Samsung, LG, and others. Hence, that is a Focus point for us in 2020.
Hoichoi was launched successfully in Bangladesh this year that too on the Bengali New Year with an original series directed, produced and acted by their local talent. We released the second one on Eid.
In 2020, we plan to do at least 6 more Original series locally produced in Bangladesh and also look to expand our business through local payment options and Telco billing options and Partnerships not only in Bangladesh but also across the Middle East and US and UK Markets.
Ensuring seamless Content Consumption
As customer experience is our number 1 priority, we are working to give a flawless in-app experience to the customers to enjoy their favourite content. Having said this, we are already rolling out a seamless payment experience by adding multiple payment options for the users and at the same time investing in reducing content size to ensure low bandwidth consumption on the users end in order to provide a quality streaming experience. We are also going to introduce additional features which the users have been asking us for some time now.
I think, one of the biggest advantages that Hoichoi has, as an OTT player in the market, is that, it’s got a varied audience-base. Thus, we are ready to provide content like Taranath Tantrik (literary adaptation) to a Byomkesh (detective show) to a Hello (drama) to a Japani Doll (satirical comedy) to a Paap (Durga Puja special show).
In 2020, our main focus is to dig deep into the sub-genres and churn out more such content which will ultimately, resonate to our audience. We are planning to produce another 25 original series in 2020.
Reaching out to Tier II and Tier III Markets
Content on Hoichoi is mostly consumed by the urban population in India. In 2020, we plan on innovating with our marketing activities to ensure that we reach out to a larger base in Tier II and Tier III markets. The next 100 million internet users will come from these markets and as such reaching out to them with quality content is a core priority for us.
