For us, Women’s Day is not just about campaigns—it’s about genuinely supporting and uplifting women in business: Anchal Mehta, The Knowbility

On the occasion International Women’s Day, Medianews4u.com caught up with Anchal Mehta Founder The Knowbility.

At just 19, she launched The Knowbility in 2021 with a vision to deliver specialised, results-driven services for her clients. Founded in 2021, The Knowbility helps businesses strengthen their marketing strategies and grow digitally—an essential component for success in today’s competitive landscape. The agency enables clients to connect with their target audience, build brand awareness, increase sales, and achieve marketing goals through customized, result-oriented strategies.

Coming from a family of doctors and engineers, she chose to carve her own path, beginning her professional journey by creating content on social media, followed by six months as a Business Development Executive, and three months as a freelancer. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Amity University, Noida at 18, Anchal transformed her passion for client satisfaction into a full-fledged entrepreneurial venture.

The Knowbility is built on a deep understanding of crafting unique brand experiences. Leveraging internal expertise and strategic insights, the company designs curated campaigns that enhance public outreach and media coverage, while safeguarding and strengthening clients’ reputations. Its diverse clientele spans industries such as healthcare, hospitality, food & beverages, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle, including Bollywood personalities and figures from the glam industry.

She leads a dynamic team of 10 skilled professionals who excel in their respective domains. From Social Media specialists and PR strategists to Graphic Designers, Content Writers, Event Managers, and Business Development Executives, the team works collaboratively to translate client ideas into visually engaging, impactful campaigns across digital platforms, websites, and social media. Each member is trained to ensure high-quality service and measurable results.

Q. What prompted you to go into entrepreneurship?

My journey into entrepreneurship was shaped by my early professional experiences. During my internships at various organizations, I realized that many traditional work environments lacked the freedom for creativity and often came with unnecessary stress. That experience made me reflect on the kind of workplace I truly believed in.

I wanted to build something of my own—an organisation where creativity, ownership, and freedom were valued just as much as performance. That vision led me to start The Knowbility. Today, five years later, my biggest priority is to ensure that my team works in an environment that encourages ideas, flexibility, and growth, while maintaining a positive and supportive work culture.

Q. The Knowbility aims to deliver specialised, results-driven services for clients. Were the initial two years marked by a certain amount of scepticism?

Not really. I was always confident about the quality of work and the value we were offering to our clients, largely because of the hands-on experience I had gained before starting The Knowbility. From the very beginning, our focus was on delivering genuine results rather than just services.

What truly helped us build trust was our approach to relationships. Even after completing projects, we continue to maintain strong and positive connections with many of our clients. For us, it has never been just about closing a project—it’s about building long-term partnerships based on trust and consistent quality.

Q. What work will The Knowbility be doing with clients on the occasion of Women’s Day?

On the occasion of Women’s Day, The Knowbility is working closely with its clients to create special campaigns, dedicated offers, and strategic marketing support to celebrate and highlight women-led initiatives. Our focus is to help brands craft meaningful communication that resonates with their audience while celebrating the spirit of the day.

We are also currently collaborating with two inspiring women entrepreneurs who own a restaurant in Gurgaon. Although we have only recently started working together, the experience has already been incredibly positive. Through our social media platforms, we plan to spotlight their journey and their brand, helping them gain visibility while celebrating their contribution to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. For us, Women’s Day is not just about campaigns—it’s about genuinely supporting and uplifting women in business.

Q. Why are more young women in India starting businesses in their 20s?

Many young women today are choosing entrepreneurship because they value creative freedom, independence, and the ability to shape their own paths. With greater access to digital platforms, resources, and supportive communities, starting a business in one’s 20s has become far more accessible than before.

At the same time, many young entrepreneurs feel that traditional corporate environments can sometimes limit creativity and flexibility. Entrepreneurship allows them to build something aligned with their vision and passions. It gives them the opportunity to create meaningful work and have true ownership over their ideas.

There is also a strong emotional aspect to it—many women have the urge to build something they can truly call their own, something they can proudly say, “yeh mera hai.” That sense of ownership and identity is incredibly empowering and is one of the biggest reasons more young women today are stepping into entrepreneurship.

Q. Could you shed light on the strategy of building a people-first, inclusive team in a competitive industry?

At The Knowbility, our approach is very simple—when people feel respected, balanced, and creatively fulfilled, they naturally deliver their best work. In a fast-paced and competitive industry like marketing, burnout can be very common, so we consciously try to build a culture that protects our team’s wellbeing.

One of the ways we do this is by ensuring our team has enough time and space to explore their creative side. We strongly believe that creativity cannot thrive under constant pressure. We also maintain a strict no-work-on-weekends policy for the team, no matter how urgent the situation might seem. As founders, we take responsibility for being available for clients when needed, but we ensure our team gets the time they deserve for their personal life, health, and wellbeing.

When people feel supported and trusted, they naturally bring better ideas, stronger energy, and more meaningful results to the table—and that’s exactly the kind of environment we aim to build.

Q. What are the unique strengths women bring to leadership—such as empathy, collaboration, and emotional intelligence?

Women leaders often bring a strong sense of empathy, understanding, and emotional intelligence to the workplace. This naturally helps in building stronger relationships within teams and creating an environment where people feel heard and valued.

I’ve also observed that many women tend to approach challenges with a solution-driven mindset rather than focusing only on the problem. This approach helps teams move forward more constructively and fosters collaboration rather than pressure.

In industries like marketing and creative services, these qualities can be incredibly valuable. The ability to balance empathy with clarity, and collaboration with leadership, often allows women to manage teams and client relationships very effectively. From my experience, women in the industry are increasingly demonstrating strong leadership and carrying significant responsibility in shaping impactful work.

Q. What role do empathy and emotional intelligence play in effective leadership?

Empathy and emotional intelligence are among the most essential qualities a leader can possess. Leadership is not just about managing work or achieving targets—it’s about understanding people, their perspectives, and the challenges they face.

When a leader is empathetic and emotionally aware, they are able to build stronger relationships with both their team and their clients. It creates a culture of trust, open communication, and mutual respect. On the other hand, the absence of these qualities can negatively impact team morale, affect mental well-being, and even harm client relationships, which ultimately impacts the business as a whole.

In today’s fast-paced work environments, leaders who lead with empathy and emotional intelligence are better equipped to create balanced, healthy, and productive teams.

Q. What are the best practices that can be followed for creating inclusive and supportive work environments?

Creating an inclusive and supportive work environment begins with genuinely valuing the people who make up the team. One of the most important practices is actively listening to your team—they are experts in what they do, and their insights often bring the best solutions and ideas to the table.

It is equally important for leaders to understand their team members as individuals, including their working styles, strengths, and challenges. When employees feel understood and respected, they naturally feel more motivated and connected to their work.

Another key aspect is making the team a priority while maintaining a healthy balance between client expectations and the team’s well-being, especially when there are conflicting perspectives. A supportive workplace also involves acknowledging and appreciating good work—whether through recognition, praise, or rewards from time to time.

Ultimately, when people feel heard, valued, and appreciated, it builds a culture of trust and belonging, which leads to stronger performance and a healthier work environment for everyone.

Q. Has balancing professional ambition with personal growth and resilience been a challenge?

Yes, it has definitely been a challenge. As an entrepreneur while also being a content creator, managing multiple responsibilities often requires constant juggling between work commitments and personal time. Balancing professional ambition with personal growth and everyday life is something that doesn’t always come easily.

It’s a journey I’m still navigating and learning from. Over time, I’ve realized that growth also comes from understanding your limits, prioritizing well-being, and creating space for yourself outside of work. Like many entrepreneurs, I’m continuously figuring out better ways to maintain that balance while staying passionate about the work I do.

Q. Do we need mentorship programmes to empower the next generation of women professionals?

Yes, I strongly believe mentorship programmes are extremely important. One idea I’ve always believed in is women supporting women. When experienced women entrepreneurs take the initiative to guide and mentor the next generation, it creates a powerful ripple effect.

Mentorship not only provides practical knowledge and direction but also gives young women the confidence to take risks and pursue their ambitions. When successful women share their experiences, challenges, and learnings, it helps others navigate their own journeys with greater clarity.

If more women leaders actively mentor and empower upcoming professionals, it will naturally create more opportunities and encourage a stronger ecosystem for women to grow and succeed.

Q. Do you see Indian society and men beginning to encourage women to challenge societal norms and follow their passion? Or is the road ahead still long and challenging?

I do believe there has been a visible shift in mindset over the years. Personally, I come from a family background where earlier women were not always encouraged to pursue their ambitions. But today, the perspective is changing—families are increasingly supportive of their daughters and wives, wanting them to succeed and follow their passions.

I have also experienced this change in my professional life. Having a male partner in my business, I’ve seen how support and mutual respect can truly empower a woman to lead. He has always encouraged me to take the lead, celebrated my achievements, and contributed to my growth.

That said, while progress is certainly happening, the journey is still ongoing. There is still work to be done in breaking stereotypes and creating equal opportunities, but the positive change we are witnessing today is definitely a step in the right direction.
