Mumbai: Equirus Group has announced the appointment of Ganesh Sankaran as Vice Chairman and Whole-time Director. In this strategic leadership position, Ganesh will help shape the firm’s growth roadmap while bolstering its leadership across core business verticals.
Ganesh has been associated with Equirus in an advisory capacity and as a board member, and his formal appointment underscores the firm’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team for the next phase of expansion.
In his new role, Ganesh will oversee Investment Banking and Institutional Equities. His mandate includes expanding sectoral coverage, deepening strategic client engagement, and elevating Equirus’ capital markets platform. He will also play a pivotal role in group-wide initiatives aimed at scaling operations across the organization.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in banking and financial services, Ganesh has held prominent roles at HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, and Axis Bank. He is widely recognized for his strategic vision, business-building expertise, and strong execution capabilities. In addition to his executive experience, he brings deep governance insight through his prior board roles in the BFSI sector.
