HBO drama Game of Thrones and Diageo have joined hands to launch a limited-edition collection of single malt whiskys to celebrate the eighth and final season of the long-running.
The collection is inspired by the characters and the world of Westeros, and features eight scotches, each paired with one of the Houses of Westeros, as well as the Night’s Watch, giving fans a taste of the Seven Kingdoms.
HBO previously worked with Diageo to create White Walker by Johnnie Walker, inspired by Game of Thrones’ icy villains.
The new collection sees House Stark represented by Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost, as its home of Winterfell is cold and remote, making it similar to Dalwhinnie – produced in the cold and remote Cairngorms – while House Targaryen is represented by Cardhu Gold Reserve, in a nod to the fiery spirit of DaenerysTargaryen.
House Lannister is represented by a Lagavulin 9 Year Old, to mirror the meticulous calculation employed by the Lannisters in their rise to conquer the Iron Throne.
The others are House Tully (The Singleton Glendullan Select), the Night’s Watch (Oban Bay Reserve), House Greyjoy (Talisker Select Reserve), House Baratheon (Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old) and House Tyrell (Clynelish Reserve).
The Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection is currently being stocked at 1855 The Bottle Shop stores and online at AsherBWS in Singapore.
