Himalaya BabyCare unveils sustainable packaging, aims to cut 500 tons of plastic
Share Share ShareShare

Hyderabad: Himalaya BabyCare has unveiled a refreshed packaging design across its Gentle Baby Care Range, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability roadmap. The redesigned packs combine improved usability and modern aesthetics with a strong environmental focus, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to reducing plastic waste.

As part of this initiative, the company projects the elimination of 500 tons of plastic over the next five years—approximately 100 tons annually. The move aligns with growing parental awareness around environmental responsibility and the increasing demand for products that contribute to a more sustainable future for children.

Supporting the launch is a digital film centred on a shared parental concern—the world children will inherit. Set during a parents’ meet, the narrative highlights conversations around plastic waste and its long-term environmental impact. Through relatable storytelling, the film underscores how everyday choices, including packaging decisions, can collectively shape a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Commenting on the thought behind the change, N. V. Chakravarthi, Director – BabyCare, Himalaya Wellness Company, said, “At Himalaya BabyCare, our responsibility goes beyond creating gentle and safe products for babies today. Every decision we make is guided by our belief that while babies deserve the best of Nature’s nourishment, caring for Nature is essential to ensure a healthier world for our children tomorrow. BabyCare’s packaging transformation reflects our commitment to supporting the future of children by reducing plastic waste and staying true to our promise of gentle care that is good for our babies and good for our planet.”

The refreshed packaging features a cleaner, contemporary visual language with enhanced labelling for better readability. Designed with parents in mind, the packs offer improved ergonomics, grip, and stability to ensure ease of use without compromising on quality or safety.

To maximise reach and resonance, the digital campaign has been developed in Hindi and adapted into ten regional languages, including Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Gujarati, and Marathi.

With this initiative, Himalaya BabyCare reiterates its belief that baby care extends beyond skincare—encompassing responsible choices that help shape a healthier, more sustainable world for future generations.
