New Delhi : The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has announced that there will be an Open House meeting on 20th March for applicants for new television channels and those seeking changes in their uplinking or downlinking options.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry yesterday asked those who wish to send in any requests or issues they want discussed to the Ministry by 11th March and the meeting will be conducted by Director (Broadcasting) Neeti Sarkar in the Ministry premises.
The Ministry also said requests received after 11th March will be discussed in the next Open House meeting.
The proposed meeting will be conducted between 11am to 12am on 20th March. The concept of open house meeting was introduced by the new NDA government from July 2014 in order to encourage broadcasters to deal with the I&B ministry directly to avoid unauthorized middle men.
The meeting which will be held twice a month will also give more opportunity for access to information with respect to processing of increasing number of broadcasters’ requests.
