IBF organises Second Session on “Ad Revenue – Credit and Collections” Workshop in Chennai

Chennai: Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) organized the second session on Ad revenue- Credit and Collections in Chennai for its members in the Southern States of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Punit Goenka, President – IBF, MD, Zee Enterprises said “IBF is building an enabling environment for its members by sharing knowledge gained from operational experiences to improve performance and scale up successes. These recommendations are grounded on the insights gained from the past 15 years of collaboration between the IBF, Broadcasters, Advertising Agencies and Advertisers.”  He added “I am elated to note that the second workshop was also a resounding success and hope that members have found this IBF’s initiative enriching in terms of better understanding of processes and sharing of best practices and lessons learnt”.

He conveyed his special thanks to member broadcasters for joining hands with IBF in driving this initiative forward.

Mr. Rohit Gupta, Chairman, IBF Credit & Collections Committee and President, Network Sales and International Business, Sony Pictures Networks India said “I am extremely happy to note that IBF is making efforts to reach out to its member broadcasters located all over the country to share its continuous learnings related to Credit & Collections emanating from various meetings being held at national and regional levels.  I am sure that these sessions would help members in streamlining their ad revenue collections”. 

While congratulating IBF for this initiative, Mr. M. Venkitaraman, Senior Director (Finance & Technical), Kairali TV said that “credit extension & collections are vital to the sustenance of every business as it ensures timeliness in cash flows.  Such workshops would indeed help IBF members put more robust processes in place to improve their business efficacy”.

Alex George, Network Sales Head, Sun TV says “I am confident that this initiative of IBF is a step in the right direction for educating the Sales Team, particularly at mid and junior levels, for whom the impetus has always been on generating more volumes, to also focus on credit worthiness and payments”.

While commending the IBF’s initiative, Mr. Ashok Soni, SVP, Star India said “this IBF workshop not only helps bridging the gaps in terms of understanding and compliance of various processes and procedures, but also aids in recovering the legitimate amounts due to broadcasters in a timely manner”.

Other members who participated in the workshop like MMTV Eenadu MAA Tv SUVARNA News , Asianet News, RAJ TV, Jaya Tv, Polimer TV, New Generation, Turner International, Vijay tv, Amrita Tv, Mathrubhoomi Tv, Asianet Communications etc. congratulated IBF for the initiative and mentioned that the workshop was indeed the need of the hour.   It will help to bring better inclusivity while interacting and participating with newer territories and regional networks”. Representatives of the member channels further stated these learnings will go a long way in reducing the risks associated with credit extension and developing significantly effective revenue models”.

Secretary General, IBF, Mr. Girish Srivastava said “we are delighted to see the participation from our member broadcasters based out of all the southern states.  We endeavour to hold similar workshop in other regions also for the benefit of our members”.
