New Delhi: Manappuram Finance Ltd has announced two strategic additions to its senior leadership team with the appointments of Sanjay Nambiar as Group General Counsel and Ashish N. Chandak as Group Chief Compliance Officer (Group–CCO), effective immediately. These appointments underscore the company’s commitment to strong governance, robust compliance, and the highest ethical standards across all business verticals.
Sanjay Nambiar – Group General Counsel
Nambiar brings over 31 years of legal expertise, including more than 25 years in the banking and financial services sector. He began his career as an advocate at the Calicut Bar Association and Kerala High Court and has held leadership positions at institutions such as IDBI Ltd, ARCIL, and ICICI Bank. Most recently, he served as Group General Counsel at YES Bank, leading a team of 80 legal professionals.
He holds a BA, LLB, and LLM from Government Law College, Calicut, and has completed a Senior Management Programme at IIM Kozhikode. In his new role, Nambiar will guide Manappuram’s legal strategies and ensure the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance.
Ashish N. Chandak – Group Chief Compliance Officer
Chandak brings nearly three decades of experience across the BFSI sector, specialising in Business Development, Credit Risk, Advisory, Governance, Compliance, AML, and Fraud Risk Management. He previously served as Chief Compliance Officer at YES Bank during its post-reconstruction phase and led its Fraud Risk Management function, overseeing a team of nearly 400 professionals.
He has structured over 200 large transactions, facilitated financing exceeding ₹100 billion, and chaired key governance committees. An academic gold medallist in Engineering and Management from M.S. University of Baroda, Mr Chandak has also represented India at global industry forums and is a recognized speaker on AI/ML applications in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
