Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC)
the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC), New Delhi, today launched a campaign advocating the rights of doctors and respect for them as they continue to remain the only barrier between a constantly mutating COVID-19 virus and the people.
The campaign, titled #RespectDoctors, is launched ahead of National Doctor’s Day and asserts that violence against doctors in India is an emerging epidemic that undermines their selfless contribution to the wellbeing of humanity.
“The impact of violence is usually deeper than the marks on one’s body. Violent episodes leave a deep psychological impact on the doctors and noticeably decrease productivity – many have reported developing depression, anxiety, burnout, insomnia, and an inability to treat their patients without the fear of being under attack again. How can doctors not help patients get well? Violence against healthcare staff is not exclusive to the pandemic situation, and the law enacted last year has exerted limited impact – we still hear of such incidents. The doctor and patient ratio in India is only 0.7 per 1,000 patients less than 2.5 doctors per 1,000 patients, as mandated by the World Health Organization (WHO). Unless we curb the violent attacks against doctors, it will further reduce people’s access to quality and affordable healthcare care,” says Dr.H.S.Chhabra, Medical Director & Chief of Spine Service, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi.
To salute the undying spirits of our healthcare personnel, who have worked tirelessly saving millions of lives during the Covid-19 crisis, agarbatti brand Zed Black revived its flagship campaign, ‘prarthna hogi sweekar’ by launching its bestseller Zed Black 3in1 Agarbatti packaging dedicated to our frontline warriors, this Doctors Day.
“We believe these words “Thank You Frontline Workers” when reiterated, give a sense of much-needed gratitude and show unconditional respect towards their selflessness and every single effort they make for us without worrying about their own health and life. Therefore, as a national Agarbatti brand, Zed Black honors their relentless noble work in these troubled times. Using our pack and then extending the campaign to other mediums seemed the best way to show gratitude’, shared Ankit Agrawal, Director, Mysore Deep Perfumery House & Zed Black.
Doctors are the new content creators in the pandemic-stricken world. Many of them are sharing COVID-related information in the form of dance, comedy reels, short sketches, monologues, experience-based stories, or vlogs.
These stories have got great traction on pluc.tv channels and also helped people in critical times with information like how to use an oxygen cylinder at home, what’s the process to get vaccinated, what diet to follow as you recover from COVID-19, and more.
“Our platform not only helps creators tell stories but also gives them access to a 24*7 production support and multi-platform partnerships so that their stories can reach a higher audience. One of the most popular communities on our platform is on Health, and during the pandemic, we actually saw interest in it increase even more with doctors turning into first-time content creators to give the public access to the right and credible information. We also saw amazing content coming from nurses, sanitation workers, ASHA workers, ambulance drivers, COVID survivors, and more people.” said Tamseel Hussain, Founder & CEO – pluc.tv
“The idea was always to disseminate accurate information even from a remote part of the country where I am located. I was so glad that my content was able to help patients be well informed, even if in a small way so that they don’t believe on Whatsapp forwards and look for reliable information” – Dr. Abhishek Tandon, who is one of the active content creators on pluc.tv.
