NEC Corporation India has announced the appointment of Ichiro Kurihara as its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 2026. In his new role, Kurihara will lead strategic planning, long-term growth, and business expansion for the company, while ensuring alignment with the broader NEC Group’s five-year global strategy.
As President and CEO, Kurihara will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to NEC India, overseeing corporate governance, strengthening relationships with government bodies and enterprise clients, and managing overall business operations in the country. His mandate also includes driving sustainable growth, enhancing organizational capabilities, and fostering a high-performance culture, alongside advancing leadership and workforce development initiatives.
With a legacy spanning over seven decades in India, NEC has built a strong presence through technology-led programs across sectors such as public safety, AI-driven biometrics, smart cities, enterprise IT solutions, and financial services. Kurihara’s appointment is expected to further strengthen the company’s position as a trusted technology partner in the region.
A seasoned leader within the NEC Corporation ecosystem, Kurihara brings nearly three decades of experience across key Asian markets including the Philippines, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Thailand. His extensive regional expertise positions him well to lead NEC India through its next phase of growth.
